it legal? Yes! Article 331, Title 18 of the U.S. Code prohibits the defacing of U.S. and foreign currency ONLY if it's done with fraudulent intent or if it's used as currency once it's been defaced.( for example....Making a penny the size of a dime and spending it in a vending machine). These laws were used mainly before 1964, when US coins were made of silver. This would prevent people from drilling holes in or shaving the sides of coins (one of the reasons why coins have reeded edges) and keeping the scrap silver. |

coin necklaces come with an 18" 14KT gold
filled (for gold and copper coins) or sterling
silver (for silver/silver colored coins) chain. Earrings come on post style settings (gold or silver colored) with surgical steel posts unless french hoop style backs are requested. Dates on coins ( such as indian nickles , mercury dimes etc) may vary from ones in pictures. If you want a specific date , please ask, I will do my best to get the dates you want, if available. |
